We are fortunate to receive donations and gifts that help to enhance the day-to-day life of every student and teacher. Like most independent schools, tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a child’s education at MSB. Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to enhance academic programs, staff development, specialist classes, field trips and events, and the financial aid pool. Gifts can be made with a one-time payment or pledged and paid incrementally throughout the year, or in the form of needed items or equipment. Any gift can be made in honor or memory of a loved one.
Gifts of cash are the most common form of support. Cash donations may be made by check, or online by credit card.
Companies will often match or multiply gifts made by employees and retirees. Please keep this in mind when you make a gift to MSB and consult with your employer’s personnel department to find out whether your employer offers a Matching Gifts program.
Any gift of an item needed by the school, such as computer technology, art supplies, or athletic equipment, is considered a Gift In-Kind. Our Director of Education, Meagan Ledendecker, can provide insight as to what the programs need and can make the best use of.
With a gift of appreciated securities instead of cash, you can qualify for a tax-deduction based on the fair market value of the stock if you have held it for a year or more. For instructions on how your broker can transfer your stock to the school, please contact Todd Covert, Head of School.
Please consider a bequest to The Montessori School of the Berkshires in your estate planning. Contact Todd Covert, Head of School, if you would like more information.
